Marc Lebowitz - Founding Partner
As a partner at M&A, Marc oversees all of the day to day operations and asset management for the company’s portfolio and is the driving force behind repositioning assets. He set the direction and has been instrumental in the co-creation of the company’s student housing platform. In addition to heading up M&A’s investor and equity relationships, Marc is the key figure in fundraising for the company.  Since 1988, Marc has acquired a vast set of experiences in all facets of commercial real estate including sales, development, land acquisition, multi-million dollar renovation projects and ownership and management of large multi-family and student housing properties. Prior to M&A, Marc spent 14 years in commercial real estate where he was consistently top in his field at both Grubb & Ellis and First Property Realty Corporation; being responsible for the leasing and selling of millions of square feet of high end real estate throughout Los Angeles. Marc is very involved in the Los Angeles community and currently sits on the executive board and acts as co-chairman of the Cedars Sinai Sports Spectacular fundraising event. Marc has been instrumental in raising more than $1.5M annually for the Medical Genetics Institute at Cedars Sinai Hospital.
 
Adam Stein – Founding Partner
Adam oversees corporate initiatives and is in charge of developing and implementing the strategic direction of the company; including the co-creation of the company’s student housing platform. He is also responsible for the structuring of all debt and equity relationships and plays an integral role in M&A’s fund raising efforts. Adam maintains financial oversight of the company’s entire portfolio and plays a leadership role in the day to day management of the business. During the past 15 years, Adam has amassed a wide array of experiences in real estate. In addition to growing M&A into a successful owner and operator of apartments, he has participated in single family home development, hotel venture funding, land acquisition, and private equity financing. Adam has an entrepreneurial background that is vast and diverse. Before founding M&A, Adam was a successful internet pioneer working in the 1990's as an early executive for Yahoo! where he was responsible for managing sales and business development in the Southwest Region of the United States overseeing approximately $100 million of revenue annually.
 
David Pio – Managing Director
As Managing Director of M&A Real Estate Partners, David Pio oversees all aspects of Acquisitions, Asset Management and Property Management for the firm.  Prior to joining M&A, David was Vice President of Operations and Managing Partner at Property Management Professionals where he led a 30-member team in the day to day operations and finances of a 10,000-unit residential property management company.  Before this, David was a District Manager with Lieberman Management Services in Chicago where he was responsible for overseeing the daily management of a $1.5-billion-dollar multi-family residential portfolio and oversaw over $11 million dollars in capital improvement projects.  Early in his career, David sourced, underwrote, oversaw due diligence and entitled over 1,400 units for KB Home in Chicago and Delwest in Denver.  David is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he received a degree in Landscape Architecture.  David later earned a MBA with Honors from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
